Diet Soap #2 Layout Done!

I am moving several long-overdue projects out of my inbox, and one of the longest and most overdue is the layout of the second issue of Diet Soap.



This is an incredibly kick-ass issue, as evinced by the table of contents:

  • Collages by Jen Light

I am so excited to send it off into the world, which we will be doing with a launch party at the Writer's Dojo on May 10. Portland folks, please mark your calendars and please come to support the 'zine if you're able! There's going to be pizza and beer and readings and an open mike and lots of enlightened earnestness. Watch this space for more info as it develops.

Next up ... revisions for [info]heidi_lampietti, by hook or by crook!

Important correction. There is no Jerry Preusser, or if there is he did not write Dream Date. Chelsea Martin wrote Dream Date. In fact that particular piece is a reprint from her very funny zine series by the same name.

i received a google alert directing me to your blog or whatever it is. my name is jerry preusser. i dont know why you have my name as the author of dream date. curiously, my daughter, chelsea martin is a well known poet. coincindence?

Well, that solves the mystery then, because we're printing a brilliant piece by your daughter in our upcoming issue. I'm still not *quite* sure how I got your name associated with her story (maybe I looked at the "author" in the Word doc?) but in any case ... thanks for clearing that up. ;-)
