Meet the new userpic. Same as the old userpic.

My old userpic was starting to get that "not so fresh" feeling, so it's time for a new one. This one is also Adam Ant, like the old one, because there's only so much fresher I want to be.

It's also black and white, which makes my blog (and all my comments) seem that much more hip, ironic, and awesome.

Binge writing continues. Fun for all. Well, mostly for me.

He looks Deppish in that one.

Ah, you are beginning to see the thread that binds my ideals of masculine beauty.

I call it "the Depp factor."

Or maybe, since I had a crush on Adam Ant long before I ever had a crush on Johnny Depp, it should be the "Ant Factor."

Or maybe I should just call it the "pervy old woman factor."

He looks weirdly, though not unappealingly, like Helena Bonham Carter in that picture.

Personally, if I look at it too long, I get all sorts of very wrong ideas about a) what he's looking at or b) what he's doing with his hands off-shot.

Are you suggesting that icons that are not B&W are not as hip, ironic and awesome?
Now I'm offended.

Paul Newman looked *way* hotter in "The Hustler" than he did in "The Color of Money."

"The Hustler" was shot in black and white.

Therefore, black and white is hipper, ironic-er, and awesomer!

QED!

(Sorry to have to decimate you with logic, but there it is.)

He was also a coupel of decades younger in the former.
Your 'logic' is flawed.

To be fair, if not logical, even 20 years after The Hustler, he looked good.

Like a fine wine, he has aged well. I wouldn't kick him out of bed even now that he's, like, 115.

And he makes a *damn* good spaghetti sauce.

He's really only 83. (And I'm taller my 2.5 inches, so there!) By the way, did you know that, in the mid-1970s, someone tried to make a movie based on Asimov's caves of Steel, with you-know-who as detective Lije Baley?

Speaking of way hotter ::points to icon::

Mmmmm.... Mark Lenard... I bet he was positively steaming in black and white.

Strange how he never got bigger roles. Still, let's hear it for Aaron Stample!

Dude! I'd call that hip, ICONIC, and awesome! Everything's sexier in B&W.
