Back in the saddle again

Well, that's that. Vacation's over for this year, and I'm back at work. I am resolved to be positive about this fact. Next week I'm in Scottsdale, AZ for a conference, so that will be fun. I rather like being on the road, though it's difficult on the whole family/homelife, especially since next week is daughter's first week of Kindergarten. I know she'll do great, though, and her Dad will be there to soothe any anxieties.
Some good news on the publication front -- I have a story up on Flashquake and just this weekend I received an acceptance from Vestal Review. Small markets, small checks ... small stories. Flash fiction is fun for the whole family.
I had a great Friday ... I was inspired by an idea my husband gave me, and sat down and wrote a 5,000 word story in three hours. A reasonably good one too, if I do say so myself. Now I have four stories just about ripe for submission. One's going to the Polyphony anthology, one's going to F&SF, and one of the remaining two (I'm not sure which) will go to SciFiction.
Go, Speed Racer, Go.
